Question regarding clasping

If one wrestler almost has a take-down on the other and is clasping the body, will clasping be called at the instantaneous moment that the take-down is awarded, or will he be given a moment to release his grip?

If I have rear standing from neutral and the man attempts to switch me, I would much prefer to hold the clasp until the TD is awarded.

2010 Projected Section XI Tournament Results

Glenn loaded with talented seniors should be able to win it one more time.

Longwood moving up a notch form 2009 , getting ready for another run .

Hauppauge well balanced and steady as usual .

Huntington still have talented nucleus but curious to see how they perform under new staff in 2nd year

Rocky Point led by the 3 amigos, could be a huge drop off after this year .

Connetquot Also heavy senior laden team , should send a ton of kids to tournament as L2 is even weaker with Commack up to L1.

Riverhead always puts out a competitive team , and now with returning talent .

Westhampton returning entire team that had respectable finish in 2009

Sachem East ready to crack top 10 after years of hard work .

East Islip another Senior laden team that should be competitive .

D-1 Pre-certification State Rankings

These are not official until after all the certifications are done.If you have any thoughts or see that I am missing someone please let me know. I've heard stories about kids going so many different weight classes it's not even funny, Some weights may differ from Section XI and Section VIII rankings. Won't be able to do correctly until after the cert's are done! Not interested in who is going what weight, interested in if I have all the correct guys or if I am missing someone. Impossible for me to look over every match result or keep track of D1-D2 move up move down.....Thank you!

NOTE: These are only D-1 state rankings, due to the fact D-1 and D-2 do not wrestle each-other in the States, it would not be fair to rank people over people who will not wrestle each-other at the States and get to decide the outcome on the mat!

News broke on Friday that Nick Arujau, a two-time New York state champion (Division 1), has changed his mind and retracted his verbal commitment to Hofstra. Does lifting weights stunt growth?

I'd always heard as a child that lifting weights could stunt my growth. I've been searching the internet to find evidence to support this, but I am unable to find any. On the contrary, there are a lot of websites saying that this idea is an unfounded myth.

The general consensus seems to be that it is O.K. for children to start lifting weights at very young ages, so long as they are supervised and the weight isn't too heavy. The sites suggest that children do 8-15 repetitions until they have reached puberty, and then heavier lifting can take place.

Does anyone have any knowledge in this area? I want to help kids do what is best for them, but I don't want to give advice that could potentially hurt someone.
